In a two separate incidents,DCP Ajay Chudasama of Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) found armed policemen sleeping in PCR vans at Ellisbridge and Lal Darwaza areas of Ahmedabad. The information was given to the City Control Room after which senior officers decided to take strict action.

D H Parmar,DCP Control,who is investigating the matter,refused to comment on it. A police source revealed that personnel on duty in van numbers 21 and 5 were found asleep by the DCP. The police had designated 19 PCR vans to patrol the city after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack. The vans are equipped with sophisticated arms and ammunition with four armed personnel in each van to counter any terror strike.
