Stone-pelting and firing has once again between reported between villagers at Plaswa and a group of antisocial elements. Since the last couple of months,several such sporadic incidents have been reported between the villagers and the miscreants at the village. According to a complaint lodged with the Junagadh taluka police station,the latest incident was reported on Monday when around 20 motorcycle-borne miscreants stormed the outskirts of the village and terrorised the people. The accused attacked one Ramesh Bhuva (40),who sustained head injuries and had to be hospitalised in the Junagadh Civil Hospital. The police said,Anti-social elements fired three rounds in the air,and in retaliation,the villagers launched a counter-attack,during which some of the accused managed to escape from the scene,leaving behind two motorcycles. Later the villagers informed the Junagadh taluka police about the incident,who rushed to the spot,during which the other accused fled. Rambhai Patel,a resident of Plaswa village lodged a complaint against 16 people namely identified as Aala Natha,Karsan Natha,Gala Kana,Daya Bhima,Samir Dosa,Kakan Natha and 10 others under Sections 307 (attempt of murder),143,147,148,149 (rioting) of the Indian Penal Code and under provision of the Arms Act rule 25 (1). Junagadh Superintendent of Police Maninder Singh Puwar said: After recovering the bikes,six accused have been identified and efforts are on to nab the culprits. They will be arrested soon. The Local Crime Branch,Special Operations Group and the taluka police have jointly launched combing operations to nab the miscreants. Taking a serious note of the incident,Junagadh legislator Mahendra Mashru also rushed to the spot to take a stock of the situation. He has warned that unless the antisocial elements are arrested immediately,he along with the villagers will agitate in front of the office of the Superintendent of Police.
