The last time GCMMF had raised the milk price was in February 2023. The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which retails milk and milk products under the Amul brand, increased the prices of fresh pouch milk across all variants by around Rs 2 per litre Sunday. The revised prices will be effective from Monday, GCMMF said in an official statement.
The last time GCMMF had raised the milk price was in February 2023.
With the fresh hike, the revised milk prices for variants such as 500 ml Amul buffalo milk, 500 ml Amul Gold milk, and 500 ml Amul Shakti milk stand at Rs 36, Rs 33, and Rs 30, respectively.
“The hike is being done due to the rise in overall cost of operation and production of milk. Our member unions have also increased farmers’ prices approximately by 6-8 per cent over the past year,” the statement said, adding, “The price revision will help in sustaining remunerative milk prices to our milk producers and to encourage them for higher milk production.”
