The Ahmedabad City District Education Office (DEO) on Monday organised a camp at N V Patel High School in Naroda to facilitate corrections in school records for students and parents. During the camp, documents of 523 students, from Class 1 to 12, were corrected, addressing minor errors in details such as name, surname, caste, and sub-caste. This initiative aimed to ease the burden of commuting to government offices for these corrections.
According to the DEO officials, the corrected documents were issued after “proper scrutinisation” of the papers submitted by the students and parents.
Minor corrections in the documents such as spelling mistakes in the name or surname, caste or subcaste and wrong date of birth, among other things that could lead to issues for the students during the Class 10 board examination were done at the camp, officials said further.
A similar camp will be held on Tuesday during which students from 50 schools will be covered, said the officials. The camp will be organised at Kumkum Vidyalaya in Maninagar. The school authorities would send the parents and students to the DEO office in Vastrapur to get the minor corrections done, said the officials.
