Close on the heels of a visit of Nobel laureate Venkat Raman Ramakrishnan,a senior scientist from NASA,who too is an alumnus of Maharaja Sayajirao University, will visit the campus to deliver a lecture on January 8.

MSU sources said Kamlesh Lulla has been invited by Department of Botany to deliver a lecture on “Why explore space? My science adventures at NASA” to be held at C C Mehta Auditorium.

“We decided to call Dr Lulla not only because he is born and brought up in Vadodara but also because he is our alumnus. He taught at the botany department for two years before joining Indiana State University for his second PhD in space sciences. He had an opportunity to train astronauts like Kalpana Chawla and Captain Sunita Pandya Williams from Ahmedabad,” said botany department head Arun Arya.
