4 held for Saturday night attack on police

Vejalpur police,on Sunday,arrested four persons from Juhapura area in connection with the attack on a police vehicle on Saturday night. A team of police had raided an illegal slaughter house there on Saturday night when the miscreants had launched an attack on the police.

The four arrested accused have been identified as Yunus Sheikh,Abdul Sheikh,Mohammed Yusuf Sheikh and Mohammed Rasulmiyan Sheikh; all residents of Sankalitnagar locality in Juhapura. All of them have been booked for rioting under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code and The Prevention of Damage to the Public Property Act.

Vejalpur Police Inspector JH Jalu said,“They have arrested four persons in the case and more arrests are likely.”

Meanwhile,police have intensified the patrolling in the area to prevent any untoward incident. Jalu added that,on Sunday only,they have handed over two calves found in Juhapura area to a city-based voluntary organisation working for animal welfare.
