Suresh Kumar Kashyap biography
Suresh Kumar Kashyap is a notable political leader from Himachal Pradesh and a member of the Bhartiya Janata Party. He is the incumbent member of the parliament of Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla constituency. He was born on March 23, 1971, in Paplahan, Himachal Pradesh, to his parents, Chambel Singh Kashyap and Shanti Devi. He was a non-commissioned officer in the Indian Air Force from 1988 till 2004 before entering politics.
He started his political career as a Block Development Council (BDC) member for Pachhad and joined the BJP in 2006. He served as the District President of the BJP SC Morcha and later ascended to its State General Secretary.
In 2012, he was elected as a Member of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly from the Pachhad constituency, a position he held until 2017. His successful tenure led to his re-election from the same constituency.
His political career took a significant leap in 2019 when he was elected as a Member of Parliament from the Shimla constituency. During his term, he served on several parliamentary committees, including the Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice, and the Committee on External Affairs.
On July 22, 2020, he was appointed as the President of the Himachal Pradesh State Unit of the BJP. His leadership has been pivotal in fortifying the party’s presence in the state.
