Sukhbir Singh Jaunapuria biography

Sukhbir Singh Jaunapuria, a name that resonates with political prowess and business acumen, is an Indian politician and owner of a Gurugram-based real estate group. He was born on October 18, 1957, in Delhi to his father, Sohan Lal Jaunapuria, who was a well-known figure in the business community. He completed his education up to the second year of B.Com at Delhi University.

His political career began in Haryana, where he served as an independent member of the Haryana Legislative Assembly in the Sohna Vidhan Sabha Constituency from 2004 to 2009. His victory in Sohna was significant as he defeated political stalwarts of the Congress Party and others.

In 2014, Jaunapuria’s political journey took a turn when he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and contested the Lok Sabha elections from the Tonk-Sawai Madhopur constituency in Rajasthan. He won the election, defeating former member of parliament and former Indian cricket team captain Mohammad Azharuddin by a margin of 1,48,000 votes.

Jaunapuria’s success continued in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, where he once again emerged victorious from the Tonk-Sawai Madhopur constituency. This time, he defeated ex-cabinet minister Namo Narayan Meena by 1,1100 votes.

In 2020, he made headlines when he claimed that a mud pack and blowing of a conch shell could boost immunity against the COVID-19 virus. However, he tested positive for COVID-19 later that year.
