The son of veteran Bollywood actor Biswajit Chatterjee, he began his cinematic journey as a child artist in Chotto Jigyasa (1968), before making his lead debut in Duti Pata (1983). His breakthrough came with Amar Sangi (1987), propelling him to stardom. Chatterjee's career boasts a rich tapestry of successful films, including Amar Prem (1989), Shraddhanjali (1993), Unishe April (1994), and Bhai Amar Bhai (1996), establishing his versatility and range.
