Pradeep Kumar, also known as Pradeep Kumar Choudhary, is an Indian politician and a member of the
Bharatiya Janata Party (
BJP). He has been serving as a Member of Parliament (MP) representing the Kairana constituency in Uttar Pradesh in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of India's Parliament, since 2019.
Born on March 10, 1969, in Dudhla village, Gangoh block, Uttar Pradesh, into the Gurjar family of Kanwarpal Singh, he has been an agriculturist by profession. The onset of his political career started as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA), with his first tenure in 2000, when he won a by-election from the Nakur Assembly constituency as a representative of the
Rashtriya Lok Dal.
Kumar's political journey continued as he was re-elected in the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections from the Gangoh constituency, this time as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), followed by the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. He contested from the Kairana constituency on a BJP ticket and won the seat, defeating his nearest rival from the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) by a significant margin.
Throughout his tenure as an MP, Kumar has focused on various development projects in Kairana, aiming to improve infrastructure, healthcare, and education in the region, in addition to addressing issues such as farmer welfare, employment, and social harmony.
