Hubli (Karnataka), Feb 12 (ANI): People paid their last respects to Lance Naik Hanamanthappa at the Nehru stadium in Hubli district of Karnataka on Friday. The mortal remains of Lance Naik Hanamanthappa have been kept for public viewing. The last rites of Hanamanthappa will be performed in his home town Dharwad in Karnataka later in the day.

New Delhi, Feb 11 (ANI): The Research and Referral Hospital of the Indian Army on Thursday said Lance Naik Hanamanthapa's neuro functions and heart functions worsened despite all precautions, eventually leading to his death. R.R. Hospital Director Lt. Gen. Duhan said when they received Lance Naik Hanamthappa in an intubated state on February 9, his body temperature was normal but his blood pressure was very low. Lt. Gen Duhan further said that all these cells, which had already become fragile and consisted of toxin because of working in very cold environment without glucose and oxygen, had produced a lot amount of toxins. Four days after he was found alive in Siachen, Lance Naik Hanamanthappa died in the hospital on Thursday morning.

New Delhi, Feb 11 (ANI): Tributes poured in from across the country for the Siachen braveheart Lance Naik Hanamanthappa. Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and three service chiefs paid their last respect to the Lance Naik at Brar Square in New Delhi on Thursday. Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia were also among others who paid their last respects to the Lance Naik. Hanamanthappa, who was miraculously found alive after remaining buried under huge mass of snow for six days at the Siachen Glacier, passed away at Army's Research and Referral Hospital at 11.45 a.m. today.

New Delhi, Feb 11 (ANI): Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit on Thursday said that they strongly feel that time has come to ensure no more lives are lost under harsh conditions at the Siachen. He added that they hope that the Siachen issue is treated in an urgent manner between two countries so more lives could be saved. Condoling the death of Lance Naik Hanamanthappa, he added that it is a sad incident.

New Delhi, Feb 11 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the death of Siachen avalanche lone survivor Lance Naik Hanamanthappa. The Prime Minister tweeted, He leaves us sad & devastated. RIP Lance Naik Hanumanthappa. Soldier in you remains immortal. Proud that martyrs like you served India. Lance Naik Hanamanthappa, who was battling for his life at the Army’s Research & Referral hospital in New Delhi, breathed his last on Thursday morning.

New Delhi, Feb 10 (ANI): Retired Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) head constable Prem Swaroop on Wednesday has offered to donate his kidney to save the life of Lance Naik Hanamanthappa, who is battling for his life after being trapped under snow for six days at Siachen glacier. Swaroop said he heard in the news that Hanamanthappa's kidney has failed and so he had come to offer his kidney to him. He added that he is ready to donate any part of his body for him.

Mumbai, Feb 10 (ANI): The iconic dabbawala's from Mumbai and youth Congress members from Bhopal on Wednesday prayed for the well-being of Lance Naik Hanamanthappa, who is battling for his life after being trapped under snow for six days at the highest battle field Siachen glacier. One of the youth Congress member said that they are praying for quick recovery of the brave Indian soldier.
