Leader accuses major political parties of failing to bring Madhesi issues to forefront

Nepal, Jan 20 (ANI): Hridayesh Tripathi, Vice-President of Terai-Madhesh Loktantrik Party while addressing a press conference in Kathmandu expressed disappointment over inconclusive talks which failed to yield any positive results so far. He added the leaders during the meeting did not lay much emphasis on the Madhesi demands over which the Himalayan nation has been engulfed in protests for the past five months. Nepal's three major political parties, PN-UML, CPN-Maoist, and the main Opposition Nepali Congress associated with the Madheshi front to form a task force in order to find a common ground and address the Madhesi demands in the newly formed constitution. The Southern Terai region of Nepal has been witnessing protests since the newly formed constitution came into existence. Madheshis felt their interest have been ignored. Their demands include re-demarcation of the provinces, fixing of electoral constituencies on the basis of population and proportional representation.
