Delhi Red Fort Explosion: 8 Killed, Several Injured; High Alert Issued: What We Know So Far

A high alert has been issued across Delhi after a deadly explosion near the Red Fort killed at least eight people and left several others injured on Monday evening. The blast occurred around 6:30 PM in a slow-moving car parked outside Lal Quila Metro Station near Gate No. 1. Videos from the scene show vehicles engulfed in flames and people running in panic. Eyewitnesses say the tremors were so strong that nearby buildings shook, and chaos spread across Chandni Chowk as shoppers rushed to safety. The Delhi Police Special Cell, NSG commandos, and NIA are at the site, conducting forensic analysis to identify what caused the explosion. Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control within an hour.
