Flood Fury Alert:660 Villages Across Philippines,Including Metro Manila,at Risk of Deadly Landslides

Over 660 barangays across Metro Manila, Northern, and Central Luzon are at risk of rain-induced floods and landslides this week, according to the DENR-MGB. A low pressure area (LPA) east of Aparri is enhancing the southwest monsoon, bringing heavy rains. Some areas may see 50–100 mm rainfall and floods up to two meters deep for several days. Metro Manila, Ilocos, and parts of Visayas are expected to experience scattered rains and thunderstorms. Local governments are urged to prepare for evacuations and monitor river levels as the LPA may become a tropical cyclone.
