The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a decade old now and with every new film, the box office numbers of this franchise have been taking a huge leap. Marvel's latest offering, the Chadwick Boseman starrer Black Panther has crossed the 1 billion dollar mark at the global box office. This is the fifth MCU film to reach this milestone. When Black Panther hit the screens worldwide on February 16, not many expected it to receive the kind of adulation it is receiving from around the world. But this Chadwick Boseman starrer has turned out to be the kind of box office juggernaut which one can only dream of. In just 26 days of its release, it has become Marvel's only sans Iron Man film to have gone past the $1 billion mark.

Avengers: Age of Ultron - $1.40 billion
Written and directed by Joss Whedon, MCU's eleventh offering Avengers: Age of Ultron featured the Avengers' nemesis Ultron, an artificial intelligence obsessed with causing human extinction. The third sequel to the Avengers franchise, Avengers: Infinity War, is scheduled to be released on April 27, 2018.
Iron Man 3 - $1.21 billion
In Iron Man 3 (MCU's seventh film), Tony Stark/Iron Man deals with post-traumatic stress disorder caused by the events of The Avengers, while investigating a string of terrorist attacks led by the mysterious Mandarin, and comes into a conflict with an old enemy: Aldrich Killian.
Captain America: Civil War - $1.15 billion
This one had a huge ensemble cast where the audience got to watch Captain America at loggerheads with Iron Man. This was also the film where we first saw Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther. It is after the events of this film that the story of Black Panther starts.
