Invoking the “connection since historic times”, AAP leader Chaitar Vasava on Wednesday exhorted the Kshatriya and tribal communities to unite for the Lok Sabha polls to defeat the BJP.
Vasava, the INDIA bloc candidate from Bharuch, launched an attack on Union Minister and BJP’s Rajkot candidate Parshottam Rupala over “making hurtful comments”, as it was the “mindset of the BJP”.
Vasava, addressing a public meeting in Bharuch, said: “Rupala recently made comments that hurt the Kshatriya-Rajput communities… He had earlier commented about the tribal community too… He is used to making these hurtful comments.”
“I want to tell the BJP and Rupala that the connection between the tribals and the Rajputs is not new. It dates back to the era of Maharana Pratap. They (BJP) can visit Chittorgarh and see. When invaders attacked India, the soldiers from the Bhil community stood by the army of the Rajput kings. Maharana Pratap had our Punja Bhil with him and the battle of Haldighati was so intense that the Bhil army had thrown out the Mughals from there,” the AAP MLA from Dediapada said.
Urging the voters to “unite” to fight off the BJP’s influence in the area, where he is fighting six-term BJP MP Mansukh Vasava, Chaitar said, “The BJP’s mindset, followed by actions, are coming out in the open. We need to give them a befitting reply in unity…”
