What is a campaign day like for you?

I get to  meet people and I enjoy that. I am asking them to vote and people are saying, “You will get our vote.”

What do you pack in your bag when you go out to campaign?

I don’t carry anything. Some people offer  lemon water, ORS, coconut water, and I am enjoying that.

How are you and your party workers managing to look after yourselves in this scorching  heat?

We are activists for all the  365 days. Throughout the year, we are used to staying on the road. My battery remains charged when I am with the people. During the election, more people are there, so I am more charged.

My comrades are trained and equipped. They have  faced the police, fake cases, communal violence, goons, wrath of the TMC government, and have survived.

How do you unwind at the end of each day?

We do not need to.

How often do you check your social media on the campaign trail?

I check WhatsApp frequently to communicate with other state-level leaders. I talk with them during lunch and dinner breaks.
