Video: Learn how to make a rangoli in less than 4 mins

All you need is a stencil with some lovely design and bright colours. Use a tea-strainer or a bottle with pierced caps (As shown in the video) to apply the colours. If you can’t find a similar bottle, just empty out your salt-pepper shaker or sprinkler, it will serve the purpose. The patterned stencils are widely available online or you can get your hands on them in your local Diwali fair.

Choose a spot, get the colours over the stencil, press and even out the colours using your fingers and it’s done! Get as creative as you want and use an array of colours to brighten up your Deepavali celebrations. If you want, you can top it up with flowers, candles or diyas.
