Popular for his cringe music videos, Chahat Fateh Ali Khan took social media by storm with his recent song Aye Haye Oye Hoye Bado Badi. Originally crooned by Noor Jehan for Mamtaz in Banarasi Thag, the song was released on YouTube in April 2024. It features Khan and Pakistani actor Wajdhan Rao Ranghar, and has garnered over 1.3 million views already.

Ranghar, in a recent interview, said the song has ruined her career. “Unfortunately, I performed in the song out of desperation. People are trolling me and asking why I would agree to feature in this song. I replied I didn’t have money to buy clothes for Eid, and it is better than stealing,” she said in a video.

Who is Chahat Fateh Ali Khan?

Born as Kashif Rana in Lahore, Chahat Fateh Ali Khan, 56, rose to fame in 2020 during the pandemic. His songs triggered meme fests, making him a part of multiple Pakistani talk shows including Jani Ki Shah, Public Demand with Mohsin Abbass Haider, Honest Hour podcast, and more. According to reports, he was also invited to the IPPA Awards 2023.

Chahat made headlines for his new release Ye Jo Pyaara PSL Hai. In an interview with PNN with Fiza Riaz and Wajahat Khan, the ‘cringe’ singer claimed it took him a week to write, compose, record and release the song.

He now performs at private events in Pakistan.

If reports are to be believed, he represented Lahore in two first-class cricket matches and scored 16 runs for the Quaid-e-Azam trophy in the 1983-84 season.
