While Bengaluru is often celebrated for its tech-savvy professionals, its auto drivers are equally remarkable. They continually demonstrate creativity and innovation. For instance, one driver has recently caught attention by replacing his traditional seat with an office chair, enhancing his comfort. Previously, another driver impressed many by using a smartwatch to show a QR code for digital payments, bypassing the need for cash.
A snapshot posted by X user Shivani Matlapudi captures an auto driver relaxing on a swivel office chair, enhancing his comfort and ergonomic support while operating his vehicle. “Auto driver’s seat had an office chair fixed for extra comfort, man I love Bangalore,” Matlapudi captioned on the viral photograph she shared on the social media platform.

Since the picture was shared online, it has been the subject of widespread discussion, with many online users referring to it as a peak Bengaluru moment. One user commented, “Peak Bengaluru, peak comfort.” Another user added, “Perfectly designed to fit in with Bangalore’s reputation as an IT hub.”
David Hoang, the Vice President and Head of Design for AI at Atlassian, acknowledged the post and mentioned, “I’m going to Bangalore soon and can’t wait to experience it!”
Concerns about safety have been raised regarding the installation of office chairs in autorickshaws. “That’s probably violating some section of the Motor Vehicles act. Every part needs to be certified, especially those concerning safety. Saying this because I worked in the design department of a German truck manufacturing org,” one user commented.
