With just a few weeks left for the launch of the Galaxy S25 series, considering the Galaxy S23, an almost two-year-old smartphone might not seem like a wise choice. However, considering the fact that the Galaxy S23 is now available at Rs 37,999, which is less than 50 per cent of its original launch price, it is still a good pick, especially for those who value a good and compact Android flagship smartphone.

The base variant of the Galaxy S23 is now available for Rs 37,999 on Flipkart. For anyone considering a no-compromise compact Android flagship, here’s why it’s a good pick.

A no-compromise Android flagship

Despite its compact size, featuring a 6.1-inch screen, the Galaxy S23 is as good as the Galaxy S24 or any other Android flagship smartphone that’s priced at around Rs 50,000. This includes its premium metal-glass-sandwich build, IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, a true triple camera setup with a dedicated telephoto and ultra-wide angle lens, and in addition, it also gets the entire range of Galaxy AI experiences.

The Galaxy S23 has all the traits of a flagship Android smartphone, including wireless charging, eSIM support, and a 120Hz display with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. The smartphone also has a clean design and there are plenty of first-party and third-party accessories available for the device.

Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with at least 8 GB RAM and 128 GB of storage, it can handle heavy multitasking and gaming without any issue, considering you are okay with a smaller screen. On top of that, it also offers a solid software experience, which currently runs on Android 14-based OneUI 6, and will soon be updated to Android 15-based OneUI 7, and will be eligible for two major OS upgrades.

The Galaxy S23’s main drawback is its battery life. With a 3,900 mAh battery and support for 25W fast charging, the battery is average, but for typical use, the phone should last through a full day.

Overall, if you are a fan of compact smartphones and looking for a solid smartphone that you can continue to use for the next two to three years, the Galaxy S23, especially at Rs 37,999 is a solid choice, even in 2025.
