Boult has bowled one in the slot, and it was there to hit; however, Sherfane Rutherford managed to hit it straight to long-on. That is a massive wicket under the circumstances. It has not been a good day for Boult, but he did manage to pick two crucial wickets in two crucial junctures of the game. It is fair to say that Mumbai, thanks to two good overs from Bumrah in the last 30 minutes or so, have managed to break the momentum of the Titans and pulled this game back. However, it is not over yet. completely Titans do have Tewatia, who is a master in these situations, and Sharukh, who has made his name in domestic cricket, bailing out matches like these.

Ashwani has bowled brilliantly since coming in as an impact sub in this game. He has nailed his yorkers nicely and executed his slower ones to perfection. It might go under the radar, but he is just chipping away with his spell. He bowled three overs for not much when compared to what the Titans are chasing. And Hardik has made the call it is going to be the 18th over which Bumrah is going to bowl. The pressure has been piling upon Titans, and if Bumrah manages to bowl a tight one here, then it will help the bowlers to follow coming after this one.

Well, Gleeson has got the wicket here. Sudharsan tried to play the scoop, and Gleeson bowled a yorker, and Sudharsan missed it completely. We still don't know where this game is going to go, but it was a cracking innings from the left-hander. He has played some sublime knocks through the tournament, but this one will stand right up there. As per the chase, it just starts to feel like Mumbai are turning the tide here. Sherfane Rutherford, with a  few deliveries he has faced he has gotten himself in, but he needs someone to come in and go after the bowling right away. What this wicket will do is help Hardik to delay Bumrah's final over a little longer.

Well, Hardik turns to Bumrah, and there comes the breakthrough. It was a cracking yorker from the ace-bowler which the batter missed, trying to do something missed it completely. How often does Bumrah do this for Mumbai Indians and India, especially when the sides need him to do it? Sherfane Rutherford has walked into the middle. Titans are continuing to maintain the two left-handers at the crease combination. If Hardik has any intention of using an over of spin with Rutherford just coming into the crease, this might be it. And it has to come from Santner.

There is a lot of dew on the outfield here, which is favouring the Titans. Anything which is pitched on the back of length the ball is skidding on nicely. This game is running away from the Mumbai Indians. The body language has started to change here. Hardik, especially is becoming more and more animated. The way this is go,ing we might see Titans ending up getting there with overs to spare. Hardik needs to make a move here. He has to bring in Mitchell Santer for an over and throw in the dice before it's late. A spare of thought for Sundar what a gem of an innings he is pulling out here.

A 50-run partnership has come up. This is superb chase construction from Titans so far. They are one of the calmest sides in the tournament. It would have been easy for them to get overwhelmed with Gill falling and the target they had in front, but it did not happen; they were more focused on building those partnerships and playing low percentage shots for boundaries. This is getting very tricky for Hardik Pandya. He needs to find a method to create a breakthrough here. With two left-handers, it is unlikely Mitchell Santner will bowl an economical over as per the match-up theories, but neither are other bowlers bowling well. They too are conceding quite a lot.

With two left-handers in the middle, what it does to Mumbai Indians is it nullifies the threat of Mitchell Santner, who has been in fabulous form. Sundar might not have had too much role to play for Titans with the bat or ball this season, but earlier he did play a cracking innings coming at the same number against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, which changed the momentum of the contest, and his promotion today will be anticipated to match a similar impact for Titans. Also Mumbai are yet to make an impact sub and it is time they do have a look at someone like Ashwani Kumar to come in and chip in a couple of overs before it is too late.

Well, more than it was the wicket of Santner, it was Kusal Mendis himself who ensured he was out. Trying to play a ball on the leg-side, he went very deep into the crease and ended up rattling his own stumps. It has been that sort of evening for the Titans; whenever they have had the opportunity to get ahead in this game, they have shot themselves in the foot. Amidst all the chaos, Sai Sudharsan has scored a half-century here. He is playing a lovely hand here. This is turning into a cracking innings from him. And the batter who has walked in to replace Mendis is Sundar, who is promoted up the order.

This is a lovely partnership between Sudharsan and Mendis. They have put on 50 runs at a brisk pace. This is what Titans had to lay a foundation in the chases like this, staying in the game as long as 15th or 16th over is more important than ending up 80/3 in the powerplay, and Titans do have the pedigree not only to make sure no more wickets have fallen but also keep going at a good rate. As per Mumbai things were going their for majority of this game but given how Sudharsan and Mendis are batting here they need to be a tad bit worried. They have to break this partnership.

Kusal Mendis is looking in good touch. He did play a couple of crisp shots against Boult in that previous over, extracting 22 runs from that over. As per Sai Sudharsan, he is doing what he has been doing through the tournament. He is chipping in with boundaries and rotating the strike. They need someone to match Rohit's innings here for the Titans, and Sai Sudharsan with the form he is in, if he can hold his end up and let others bat around him Titans might be in this game to chase this down. But it is still an uphill task for they to pick their bowlers and take calculated risks through the innings to counter the Bumrah-factor.

Shubman Gill is gone here. The ball came back in from Boult and and trying to flick the ball on the leg-side and was trapped in front of the wicket. He did review the decision, but it was plumb in front. That is a major blow for the Titans in this chase. They are quite reliant on their top three to get runs, and when they are chasing a total as big as this, they needed to have that solid start. Kusal Mendis has walked into the middle instead of going all guns blazing right from ball one it might be optimum for him to play his natural game and build a partnership with Sai Sudharsan to set up the game for the finishers. It is one of those chases that can't be won in the first six but can be lost.

Similar weather in Leeds to be honest with you. I'm still planning on going out there and keeping wicket. Really good fun getting out there and batting with Rohit. We've posted a nice score and hopefully, with the bowling attack we've got, we'll be able to exploit what we learnt in the first innings. After watching the game last night, it was an interesting change in how we went about it. Had to be smart at the top. From playing here last year, if it's going to do as much, it's going to do in the first six. Good cricket shots and looking to exploit width was the key for us. Will find out in 20 overs if it's par or not.

Hardik Pandya managed to squeeze 22 runs of that final over to take Mumbai to 228/5. Coetzee was trying to nail that yorker, played it into the hands of Pandya as he just slogged everything into the stands every time Coetzee managed to miss it. It is another very poor bowling effort from the Titans. Yes, it was a good wicket, and the fielders did not help the bowling, but there were plenty of occasions on the night when, Titans managed to bowl some easy stuff. It is a mountain to climb. Mumbai has ended up with 20-30 too many and the ball was sticking on the surface a bit as innings went on, and we have to see if the wicket is getting slower in the second innings. Prasidh Krishna has got another one, and it is Naman Dhir. The batter timed it too well and hit it straight to the fielder at long-on, who ran across nicely to take that catch. On the night when Titans have dropped some simple catches, they have also taken a few lovely ones. Nevertheles, all those wickets take the momentum out of this innings in this final over. It could have been 230-240 the way the batters were going at one stage, but these wickets consciously or unconsciously do suppress the run rate. If Titans can restrict Mumbai under 220, they will have some hope to work with.

It was a slower delivery from Prasidh, which Rohit tried to hit through mid-wicket region and got the toe-end, and the ball went high in the air, and Rashid Khan finally takes the catch. He did his job, though the former Mumbai skipper was fabulous on the night despite the dropped opportunities. And later Tilak played a couple of lovely shots but perished for another slower one as he tried to scoop the ball over the keeper was beaten at the off-cutter and the ball looped to the keeper. Well, Titans did bowl decently after the powerplay but it is the that first six overs they have completely looked off-colour.

Well this has gone horribly wrong. They might have had their reasons for the changes made to the side, but the combination to play three spinners and three seamers is something which they have not done too often this year, and right when it was a crunch game, they resorted to that method. Rashid Khan who has blown hot and cold, has had to do major heavy lifting in terms of wicket-taking tonight but neither were conditions conducive to such a sort of bowling and nor did he find his accuracy. They needed something more than Washington Sundar today, preferably another seamer. As we update, Prasidh Krishna picks Rohit Sharma. Someone has taken a catch finally.

Suryakumar Yadav swept one straight to square-leg off Sai Kishore. There have been quite a few times he has been holed out in that region this season. While he remains the best batter for the Mumbai Indians, his getting out in that area quite too often is becoming a trend of sorts. Even at the national level, we have seen sides bowling him to hit in that area and pack with fielders there. Nevertheless that was a good partnership between Rohit and Surya after the initial opening partnership between former and Bairstow. Tilak Varma has walked into the middle, and there is still a bit of time in the innings to build another small partnership before exploding.

Kusal Mendis has dropped another one here. It was an attempt from Suryakumar Yadav to guide one through the third man however, he did not get it right, and the ball carried to Mendis once again a very good attempt from him, and he got a hand to it but spilt it. Not easy for anyone, especially in this format of the game, to fill the shoes of Jos Buttler While Kusal Mendis is a quality player, he has not been playing much competitive cricket, coming into this high-octane game. One can sympathise with his situation but errors of that magnitude at this level will have brutal price to pay as the Titans are already witnessing with Rohit and his innings progression.

Rohit is playing a lovely innings here he got to his half-century. He is going after the left-arm spinner Sai Kishore. He is hitting them against the turn, most of them through the leg-side. He is looking in top-class batting form out of nowhere. His innings also allows Suryakumar Yadav to take some time to get into his innings. We are yet to see Gerald Coetzee introduced into the attack by the Titans here. He does have this habit of bowling the bowlers in longer spells in this format of the game, and it has worked as a double-edged sword for him. There have been instances when it has worked for him, and there have been occasions, like today it did not.

Sai Kishore has got the breakthrough here for the Titans. It was a reverse-sweep from Jonny Bairstow, which looped in the air, and Sai Sudharsan at point managed to stop the ball from going to the boundary and looped it in the air for Coeztee to complete the catch. They have had far easier before, which they spilt of Rohit, but they did manage to grab the tougher one well as long as they keep coming, Gill won't complain about how they come. Suryakumar Yadav has walked into the middle and he is the batter who scored 25+ in every innings so far this season and Titans would dearly want to break that record today.

That is some powerplay from the Mumbai Indians. They have laid the foundation to put on a massive total on the board. Titans, O Titans, they are in quite a bit of a pickle here. It is not that this side is not capable of chasing big totals without Buttler, but given the way this season has progressed for them, it is a huge blow, and given how this game has gone so far, the doubts just start to creep in. They have to do something here to do the Titans to pull this game because Rohit, too, after those chances are dropped slowly but steadily, is getting into his rhythm here in the middle.

Well, Jonny is in and Jonny is on his way. This has been a superb innings from thus far. It was quite a bit of a surprise that someone as good as him was unsold, and whenever he has to prove a point, that is when Bairstow becomes twice as dangerous, and today he has a lot of things to say, and he is enjoying himself. This is a superb innings from him, and it is pushing Titans out of the game quite early. Won the toss, surprised a few, opting to bat first did Hardik but Bairstow with the start is proving his captain right. Now the onus is on Shubman Gill to respond with some changes, while Rohit is looking rusty, Bairstow is pummeling the bowling.

Rohit is living a charmed life here first, it was a short ball which he pulled and was dropped at square-leg by Coetzee, and then in the following over, he tried to heave the ball on the leg-side, which took the edge and was a tough opportunity, but Kusal Mendis behind the wicket spilt it. The good thing is GT is creating opportunities, but the bad thing is they are not taking them.  if we do go back to the memory lane, that game in Mumbai before the break, these two teams have played Titans that day too dropped a lot of chances however, they pulled it back when the spinners came into attach, and Shubman will be hoping something similar will happen today.

Well, Mohammed Siraj has taken the new ball for the Gujarat Titans today. There was an extravagant moment in the first couple of overs yesterday; however, there is not as much today,, but the ball is still seaming around. As per Rohit Sharma he is looking in decent touch, and Jonny Bairstow, who is coming on the back of a County stint, is looking well equipped to deal with the initial seam moment. Titans have thrown in the new ball to Prasidh Krishna from the other end. It is a new role for him at this franchise this season. Usually, he has come into bowl either first change or after the powerplay through the middle overs.

I don't really feel anything different. We are happy as a team. We are in a good space. Had a couple of great practice sessions. Ready to go out there. You want to contribute to team's victory every time you go out there. It is still the same. All of us are well prepared to get that 'W' for the team. We have played great cricket throughout. We haven't had any bad games apart from the last two games. The bad games are out. It looks like a fresh start to the tournament. It is play-offs time. It is knock-outs time. All we need to do is go out there and play good brand of cricket. That's all we can do right now. Whoever throws the first punch. Whoever is calm. Whoever is more patient. Whoever clinches the right moments will be ending victorious today. Buttler was a very very important player for us. Lot of calmness in the team. But the man replacing him is as calm and as effective and has been batting well. So, don't think will be a big miss

Even from the start of the tournament we knew we were playing good cricket. Wins were round the corner. Then we started taking momentum, then coming here into the play-offs. From where we were in the first five six games to where we are, we are very proud of ourselves. It is difficult. People will say it is just another game. But it is a big game. It is the eliminator. But you know we have been in these kind of situations a lot of times. We know how to play play-offs. I think the talk around the squad is to share the load a little bit. When we bat together as a unit. I am really happy when your runs are being used and you are into the play-offs. Everyone is fine. All good. The boys who left us had a good tournament. The boys who have joined us are experienced campaigners. I think it is too far ahead. We will take one game at a time.

Square boundaries are 67 and 64 meters. Straight boundary is 73 meters. Weather was very very humid yesterday, tonight it's much drier. This wicket doesn't have the amount of grass cover we saw yesterday. The issues will be similar in terms of elevated bounce and it will get a little slower because it's a little drier with less grass. Dew factor might be negligible.

We would've chased. If someone would've said at the start of the season that we would've qualified, we would've taken it. Boys are very excited to be able to come back here in Chandigarh, it's my home town. This game is no different for us, no pressure of the knockout game or anything. Two changes - Mendis comes in for Buttler and Washington for Arshad.

We're going to bat. Looks like a different track to yesterday. Bit of less grass. Big game, scoring runs and defending would be nice. We all are aware, for the last 9 games we have been playing it like a knockout. Really need to turn up today and focus on the things which we can control. We've got three changes: Jonny comes back, Gleeson makes his debut and Raj Angad Bawa plays.

Jonny Bairstow is set to make his first IPL appearance in three years, having been signed by Mumbai Indians for ?5.25 crore specifically for the Playoffs. “Last year, in certain innings, I was a bit slow,” Sai Sudharsan tells The Indian Express. “The pitches that we played also were a bit different to the others. And even the team situation was such that there were no great starts. We kept losing wickets and I wasn’t able to give good starts. I was slow to get off the block.

“I realised that I’d have to push myself more; be a bit more explosive. So I went home and worked on the mindset of it. As you said, I didn’t change anything with my batting, but just brought more clarity. I wanted to bring the explosive element very early in the innings. If I could do it later, I could definitely do it at the beginning as well from ball one. From there on, I practiced with these thoughts in mind,” the left-hander says.

Indian Test batsman KL Rahul will play the second warm-up game for India ‘A’, against the England Lions at Northampton from June 6. Rahul will fly out on Monday. Rahul, a member of the 18-member Test squad, informed the selectors that he will be available for the warm-up game as his IPL team, Delhi Capitals, had failed to qualify for the Qualifiers.

“He will be flying on Monday and will be playing a second warm up game with the India A side. As he is part of the senior men’s team, which will be playing five Test matches in the series, these matches will give him game time and match practice,” source in the BCCI confirmed.
