Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have signed South African pacer Sisanda Magala as a replacement for New Zealand bowler Kyle Jamieson for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.
The lanky Jamieson was ruled out of the tournament due to an injury. He was bought by the franchise for Rs 1 crore.
His replacement, Magala will join CSK at his base price of Rs 50 lakh. While ha has turned out for just five ODIs and four T20Is for South Africa, the 32-year-old has played a critical role in Sunrisers Eastern Cape’s SA20 League triumph by taking 14 wickets in 12 games. Even before that, he had a reputation of being a regular wicket-taker in domestic T20 games over the years.
