After losing the One-Day International series to Australia, Team India will look to start the T20I series against the hosts on a winning note at Canberra on Wednesday. A return to T20 format means that captain Suryakumar Yadav returns back to the fold to take over the reins after the Asia Cup recently. The Indian T20I team is coming to this series on the back of an undefeated Asia Cup campaign where they were a cut above the rest of the teams in the tournament. At the Asia Cup, where the Indian team won the title, they defeated Pakistan thrice, including in the final, to clinch the event.

The Men in Blue are likely to not tinker much with their starting XIs that played most of the Asia Cup matches but in Australia’s fast and bouncy tracks, they have a conundrum on their hands. With Axar Patel and Washington Sundar likely to slot in as spinners due to their batting ability, India might have a difficult decision in playing either Kuldeep Yadav or pacer Arshdeep Singh. Jasprit Bumrah and Harshit Rana are expected starters in the pace department while Shivam Dube will slot in as the seam allrounder. It’ll be interesting to see if India lineup with which specialist bowler- the pace of Arshdeep or the spin magic of Kuldeep.
