The Vigilance Establishment,on Saturday,lodged an FIR against former minister and BSP general secretary Naseemuddin Siddiqui at City Kotwali police station of Banda district. Siddiqui belongs to the same district.
Banda Additional SP Swami Prasad confirmed that a case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act (PC Act) on a complaint of Inspector B R Varshney of Vigilance,Allahabad sector. Siddiqui is facing charges of allegedly amassing assets disproportionate to his known source of income.
The government had ordered the Vigilance Establishment Tuesday to lodge an FIR against Siddiqui and another former minister Babu Singh Kushwaha under the PC Act.
