BJP president M Venkaiah Naidu has accepted the resignation of Ramdas Agrawal as the central party in-charge of Rajasthan, general secretary Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi disclosed here today.
Agrawal had put in his papers following a word from Naidu as state BJP president Vasundhara Raje insisted that she be given a free hand in the party affairs. Agrawal, former Rajasthan BJP president, had been on the other hand feeling ill at ease after the installation of Raje in the post and the high command decision to project
her as the future chief minister. Agrawal had recently criticised the party leadership too.
Sources said that the high command would watch Agrawal’s actions for some time. He is still the central party treasurer. If he persists with dissidence, the may party may contemplate an action against him.
The sources said that three other dissidents — former deputy chief minister Hari Shankar Bhabhra, Raghuvir Singh Kaushal, MP, and former minister Ghanshyam Tewari, may land up in trouble. Naidu is expected to return here tomorrow. The leadership would review the state affairs thereafter.
