CHANDIGARH, MARCH 22: M. Ramsekhar today took over as the new UT deputy commissioner, relieving R.K. Rao of the additional charge held by him for over eight months now.
Ramsekhar is the 12th UT Deputy Commissioner and has been appointed as a regular deputy commissioner after a gap of over eight months, when the earlier DC K.K. Khandelwal was repatriated to his parent state of Haryana. Prior to his appointment in Chandigarh as deputy commissioner, Ramsekhar was the managing director of Haryana Agro Industries Corporation and was also the secretary, Haryana Public Service Commission.
Ramsekhar is an IAS officer of the 1988 batch of Haryana and will be on deputation with the Chandigarh Administration for a period of two years. Rao, meanwhile, goes back to his earlier post of assistant commissioner, Municipal Corporation. Meanwhile, when asked about his new assignment, he said it was like any other assignment as he had no personal agenda. He looked forward to providing a transparent system to the public.
