Chandigarh, July 19: Teachers working in various non-government colleges in the city held a protest rally at the GGDSD College, Sector 32, against the delay in implementation of certain benefits to the teachers, here today.

The teachers held the rally to protest against the government of Punjab delaying the benefit of Rs 14,940 to DPEs and librarians, introduction of Readers’ designation in colleges, delay in giving enefit of service in feeder’s scale, Dr Jagwant Singh district council president of the Punjab and Chandigarh College Teachers’ Union stated.

Other PCCTU office-bearers Labh Singh Kheeva, N.P. Manocha and Shinder Pal Singh criticised the functioning of the government.
