NEW DELHI, JAN 9: Getting down to action on Shiv Sena’s threat to botch the India-Pakistan cricket matches, the police today swooped down on the official and residential premises of Shiv Sainiks across the capital. Later in the day, after a meeting with Indian officials, the Pakistani High Commissioner expressed satisfaction at the security measures taken in India.
In the raids in the capital, the police detained eight activists even as Delhi Sena chief Jai Bhagwan Goel and other leaders went underground. "We will disrupt the match come what may. We will not allow Pakistan to play in India," Goel told PTI.
Meanwhile, India today assured Pakistan it would ensure `no untoward’ incidents took place during the forthcoming tour. "The Pakistan government and the Pakistan Cricket Board should have no qualms about any untoward incidents during the tour," Special Secretary (Internal Security) Nikhil Kumar told PTI.

The Pakistan cricket team may not come to India going by the signals coming from the Pakistan Cricket Board, Chief Minister and Indian Cricket Board’s seniormost vice-president Manohar Joshi said here today. Talking to reporters, Joshi, who is also the president of the Mumbai Cricket Association, did not rule out "further action" by Sainiks if the Pak team came to India.
