Aditya Roy Kapur recently ruffled a lot of feathers when endearing pictures of his romantic vacation with rumoured girlfriend, actor Ananya Panday, surfaced online. While much is being spoken about the duo’s equation on social media, what exactly does Aditya think of relationships?

Starring in dating app Bumble‘s recent ‘Kindness is Sexy’ campaign, the actor emphasised the importance of kindness in relationships. “I think the heart of everything is being good to people around you and being good to people you are in a romantic relationship with,” he said.

According to Aditya, kindness can never go out of style. “It’s one of the intrinsic things about being able to survive in society – the ability to get along with other people, be it in a romantic relationship or friendship or any other, and at its core, you need to be kind to everyone, especially in romantic relationships,” he said.

As part of the campaign, The Night Manager star also opened up about three compliments that he thinks women like to receive while dating. “I think when complimenting, while it is great for people to feel like they look good, I think what really resonates is to be complimented for the person you are,” Aditya said.

“Stuff that’s not just on the surface, so it could be anything – telling someone that they are caring, that they are funny, or telling someone that they are thoughtful. I think those things are also as important as telling them that they look good,” the actor added.

Similarly, when on the receiving end of compliments in a relationship, Aditya would like to be told about some qualities of his as a person. “If you are told that you are a positive influence on someone, or that you bring happiness to someone else, or if you are told that you are a good friend – all of these things obviously have to be deserved and earned but it’s nice, I guess, being told about these kind of things – rather than just about how you look,” he explained.
