J-K govt sets up 3-member committee for NBCC coordination

It will facilitate NBCC in early execution of works in the city,Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development Department,Tourism and Revenue & Relief,Nasir Aslam Wani said while reviewing the works of NCBB here.

He asked NBCC to issue Advance Action Programme of 15 days to all concerned departments for its drainage works so that shifting of utilities is executed in a well-planned manner.

Calling upon to ensure completion of the works taken up in Jammu city in time bound manner,the Minister asked the National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC) to accrue more results in minimum time.

The Minister was speaking at an officers’ meeting convened to review the pace of road and drainage projects taken up by NBCC in the city.

“Shifting of utilities in the winter capital is a matter of concern. All the concerned departments like R&B,PHE,UEED and JMC should coordinate in a planned manner to ensure that all works are carried out smoothly,” the Minister said.

Nasir Aslam asked NBCC and all line departments to maintain close coordination and ensure that work on any project shall not suffer due to shifting of utilities or any other reason.

The Minister asked NBCC to take up new works only after completing the projects already taken in hand to avoid public inconvenience,the Minister said.

He said that the projects delayed by NBCC are causing tremendous hardships to the people,adding every line department should play their role in completing the projects at an earliest so that the people do not have to suffer any more because of the execution of the projects.
