Bodies of two fishermen, who were missing after their boat was hit by a merchant vessel off Alappuzha coast earlier this month, were recovered today.

The victims were identified as Bernad (37) and Clitas (35),officials said.

Bernad’s body was found floating in the sea off the coast of Kollam, while that of Clitas was fished out by Navy divers from the wreckages of the boat ‘Don-1’,they said.

Two fishermen were killed on March one in the incident and three others went missing. The body of another fisherman and wreckage of the boat were recovered two days after the incident.

Singapore flagged cargo ship MV Prabhu Daya was suspected to have been involved in the hit-and-run sea mishap and the Madras High Court has ordered its arrest after the vessel was directed to report to Chennai port to cooperate in the investigations.
