A 1,000-strong squad of ‘Black Cats’ comprising AIADMK workers from Coimbatore would provide ‘foolproof’ security to their leader Jayalalithaa during her visit to Madurai tomorrow for a protest demonstration against the DMK Government.
The squad was formed a few days ago to provide security to the former chief minister,following continuous threats to her life and also alleged apathy of the government and police to ensure adequate security cover to her,party sources said.
The ‘black cats’ are experts in martial arts such as karate and kung-fu,besides some local martial arts and sports,who have also won several awards at the state level,they claimed.
They would be part of the convoy of Jayalalithaa from the Madurai Airport to the venue and back,the sources said.
Since Jayalalithaa last month announced the protest demonstration in Madurai,more than 15 letters and a phone call warning her not to visit the city have been received by the AIADMK-backed Jaya TV.
The state government has decided to transfer the cases relating to the threats to the CBI following a demand by the AIADMK.
