33 ceasefire violations along LoC in last six months: Govt

The high-level Committee formed under the Cabinet Secretary to address pay and pension-related issues of the armed forces.

Thirty-three ceasefire violations have taken place along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir in the last six months,the government has said. “In the last six months,there have been 33 instances of ceasefire violations along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir,” Defence Minister A K Antony said in written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha.

He said two Indian jawans have been killed and five were left injured in cross-LoC firing between India and Pakistan in this period.

Replying to another query,the Defence Minister said the high-level Committee formed under the Cabinet Secretary to address pay and pension-related issues of the armed forces has submitted its report to the Prime Minister.

“The recommendations of the Committee have been submitted to the Prime Minister,” Antony said.

The three Services chiefs had also made a presentation to the Committee,he added.
