A month after PM Narendra Modi declared that his government’s policies would turn India into the “most open economy in the world for FDI”, affiliates of the RSS met senior ministers to discuss their apprehensions. Defending its measures, the government argued that FDI reforms were needed for faster growth.

At the meeting, representatives of Swadeshi Jagaran Manch (SJM) and Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh are learnt to have expressed concerns over the adverse impact of the government’s economic policies on workers and small businessmen.
The meeting was arranged by the RSS to sort out the deepening differences between the Centre and the Sangh Parivar’s trade union and economic wings.
