Former Australian cricketer David Warner is all set to make his foray into Indian cinema as he gears up for his acting debut in director Venky Kudumula’s Telugu film Robinhood. The cricketer took to social media recently to share this announcement along with his first look from the film, which features Nithiin and Sreeleela in the lead roles. Warner will play an “exciting cameo” in the movie. Welcoming Warner to Indian cinema, the film’s producers Mythri Movie Makers took to social media to share the announcement, emphasising that his cameo will be an exciting addition to the film.
“After shining and leaving a mark on the ground, it is time for him to shine on the silver screen. Introducing the widely loved David Warner to Indian Cinema with Robinhood in an exciting cameo. GRAND RELEASE WORLDWIDE ON MARCH 28th,” Mythri Movie Makers wrote on X (formerly Twitter) welcoming Warner. Reacting to this announcement, a fan wrote on X, “Holy Smokes! Not picked by the IPL teams, but bro gave a movie debut.” Another fan wrote, “I request an Aadhaar card to be given to David Warner ASAP!” A third fan commented, “Count me in First day first show for David bhai.”

David Warner also expressed his excitement on X and wrote, “Indian Cinema, here I come. Excited to be a part of Robinhood. Thoroughly enjoyed shooting for this one.”
Warner has often expressed his love for Telugu cinema through his popular reels on social media. During the Covid-19 lockdown, the cricketer created several viral Instagram reels, including one about Srivalli from Pushpa movies, which gained widespread attention. A great admirer of Telugu film songs, Warner’s reels on them have garnered significant popularity online. At the same time, he also has a strong connection to Hyderabad, having played in the IPL for the city’s team and leading it to victory in 2016.
Robinhood is an action-packed entertainer penned and directed by Venky Kudumula. This marks Nithiin and Venky’s second film together. The two formerly worked together in the romantic action comedy Bheeshma. While its music is crafted by GV Prakash Kumar, Robinhood boasts cinematography by Sai Sriram, art direction by Raam Kumar and editing by Koti.
