JNVST Class 6 Admission 2026: The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has announced an extension of the registration deadline for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) for Class 6 admissions in 2026. Eligible students can submit their applications until August 27 via the official portals, navodaya.gov.in and cbseitms.rcil.gov.in. Earlier, the last date to register was July 29, which was first extended to August 13 before this latest revision.
To qualify for admission, candidates must be born between May 1, 2014, and July 31, 2016, inclusive of both dates. It is important to note that students who have already completed or studied Class 5 in any previous academic year are strictly prohibited from applying or appearing for the selection test.
JNVST Class 6 Admission 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates can follow the instructions below to complete their registration:
Step 1: Visit the official website — navodaya.gov.in and cbseitms.rcil.gov.in
Step 2: Click on the link saying ‘Register for Class VI Registration 2026’
Step 3: On the new page, click on the registration link
Step 4: Fill in the required personal and academic details
Step 5: Upload necessary documents, including a recent photograph, signature, and residence certificate
Step 6: Submit the application form and download a copy for future reference
The JNVST Class 6 selection test for the 2025 academic year will be conducted in two phases: the first on December 13, 2025, and the second on April 11, 2026. Admit cards for each phase will be made available online ahead of the respective exam dates. Selection of candidates will be based on their performance in the test, which evaluates mental ability, arithmetic proficiency, and language skills. The results are anticipated to be released in June 2026 on the official website.
As part of the registration process, candidates are required to upload specific documents in the prescribed format and file size. These include the student’s photograph, the student’s signature, and the parent’s signature, all in JPG or JPEG format with a size ranging from 10 to 100 KB. Additionally, the JNVST 2026 certificate must be uploaded in JPG or JPEG format, with the file size between 50 and 300 KB.
