The Pune city police arrested a woman, who works with an IT company, for allegedly attacking a woman inspector of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at the Pune International Airport in Lohegaon Sunday.
The police have identified the accused as Gunjan Agarwal, 24, who hails from Howrah, West Bengal and currently lives in Hinjewadi.
The CISF inspector, 39, lodged the First Information Report (FIR) in this case at the Vimantal police station.
As per the FIR, the incident took place around 12.05 am near gate number 1 of the airport. Agarwal, who went to the airport in a taxi, allegedly did not pay the cab driver. After the taxi driver sought help from the Airport Authority, the terminal manager intervened and questioned Agarwal. But the accused allegedly abused the terminal manager and created a nuisance for the passengers waiting at gate number 1.
When the CISF inspector on duty rushed to the spot, the woman allegedly manhandled and slapped the official. Agarwal also allegedly bit the inspector on her left hand.
The police booked Agarwal under sections 353, 332, and 504 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
“The accused woman has done MBA (Finance) and works with an IT company in Hinjewadi. She went to the airport as she wanted to take a flight to Chennai. Further investigation is on,” said Senior Police Inspector V T Sonde of the Vimantal police station.
