Union minister Raosaheb Danve flags off Lonavala-Shivaji Nagar EMU train

The Mumbai CSMT–Chennai Egmore Express will now have a stop at the Lonavala railway station.

Raosaheb Danve, Union minister of state for Railways, flagged off an EMU local train connecting Lonavala and Shivaji Nagar on Wednesday via videoconferencing.

Danve also announced the initiation of stoppages for two vital train services. The Mumbai CSMT–Chennai Egmore Express (22157/22158) will now stop at the Lonavala railway station, while the Mumbai CSMT– Bhubaneswar Konark Express (11019/11020) will have a stop at the Karjat railway station.


According to Central Railway officials, the introduction of the new EMU local train and two stops aims to improve connectivity and cater to the growing transportation needs of the region.

Shrirang Appa Barne, MP for the Maval Lok Sabha constituency, joined the event through videoconferencing.
