In yet another setback to Ajit Pawar-led NCP, its Satara district unit chief Sanjeevraje Naik-Nimbalkar is all set to join the Sharad Pawar-led NCP (SP) along with sitting Phaltan legislator Deepak Chavan. However, his elder brother and sitting legislator in state council Ramraje Naik Nimbalkar has decided to remain in the party but refrain from election campaign.
“We were shattered when there was a split in the NCP. We joined the Ajit Pawar-led NCP in the interest of development of Phaltan Assembly constituency. We were physically in one party and emotionally with NCP (SP). So we have now decided to follow our emotions and join the party led by Sharad Pawar,” said Nimbalkar.

Sanjeevraje said it was a very bad experience to be part of Mahayuti. “The BJP leaders were trying all their means to get our local party workers desert us and join them. Unfortunately, this was being done with the support of state leadership of BJP and our supporters as well as common citizens were suffering. Sitting legislator Deepak Chavan said, “I was never comfortable to be part of Mahayuti. I couldn’t settle there and was restless but stuck there in the interest of development work in constituency.”
