Sharad Pawar gets Naik-Nimbalkar, legislator Deepak Chavan back in NCP (SP)

The royal family of Naik-Nimbalkar is influential in Satara and adjoining district. It joining the NCP (SP) is a boost to the party ahead of Assembly elections. Ramraje Naik Nimbalkar has formally not joined NCP (SP), but is with the family as he is a legislator of NCP in the legislative council and has to serve as legislator for four years of the total six-year term. Otherwise he will face disqualification.

Sanjeevraje said it was a very bad experience to be part of Mahayuti. “The BJP leaders were trying all their means to get our local party workers desert us and join them. Unfortunately, this was being done with the support of state leadership of BJP and our supporters as well as common citizens were suffering. It was high time that we decided to live with self-respect and self-esteem which is possible in NCP (SP),” Nimbalkar said.

Sitting legislator Deepak Chavan said, “I was never comfortable to be part of Mahayuti. I couldn’t settle there and was restless but stuck there in the interest of development work in constituency.”

Ahead of Lok Sabha elections, Sharad Pawar had managed to get back the influential Mohite-Patil family from Solapur leave BJP and return to his party. Few days ago, Samarjeetsinh Ghadge from Kolhapur and Harshwardhan Patil from Indapur also joined the NCP (SP).
