The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has announced the expansion of the daily and monthly pass services to include the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) region. Previously, the pass services were limited to the Pune Municipal Corporation and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.

After noticing an increase in the demand, the decision was made in the meeting of the board of directors to expand the radius of the PMPML pass services from September 4, 2023. Passengers can now enjoy the benefits of the pass service across all routes served by PMPML buses. With a slight change in fares, the daily passes will cost Rs 120 while the monthly passes will cost Rs 2700 for the entire region of PMPML.

Currently, the price for the daily pass within the region of Pune Municipal Corporation is Rs 40 while the monthly pass is Rs 900. For both Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporations, passengers have to pay Rs 50 for the daily passes and Rs 1200 for the monthly passes.

According to the Public Relations Officer, Satish Gate, this facility has been implemented in response to requests for  extension of pass services beyond the municipal corporation regions, particularly from urban areas within PMRDA.

To acquire the monthly pass, passengers are required to visit the nearest Transport Corporation Pass Center with a photocopy of their Aadhaar card. Additionally, they must provide a passport-size photo for the creation of a passenger ID card. For daily passes, passengers can simply show one of the several identification documents, including an Aadhaar card, PAN card, driving license, passport, etc., to the bus conductor.

PMPML officials have appealed to the passengers to minimise the use of private vehicles and take advantage of daily and monthly passes.
