A multi-stakeholder collaborative approach towards implementation of the National Clean Air Programme of the central government was launched in Pune on Thursday.
A joint effort by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), this initiative will see various stakeholders pitching in with solutions to deal with air pollution in the city.
The initiative’s vision is to provide cleaner air and a better quality of life to every Indian citizen by involving leaders and all concerned stakeholders to take concrete steps to curb air pollution across India
As per the Central Pollution Control Board only 38 of the 131 Indian cities managed to meet the National Ambient Air Quality Standards in the fiscal 2021-22. The programme is a part of CII’s ‘Cleaner Air Better Life’ national initiative. CII launched this initiative in partnership with NITI Aayog in 2017.
