BJP to organise ‘dahi handi’ in Worli, Aaditya Thackeray’s constituency

Dahi handi is an entertainment sport where local communities on Krishna Janmashtami come together to celebrate. The young boys (even girls) form a human pyramid. They break a clay pot filled with milk, yogurt hanging above, amid singing by people around.

The celebrations come from the belief that Krishna in his childhood along with friends would stealthily barge in neighbourhoods and break the pot filled with butter, yogurt.

Shelar said, “This year, we will organise dahi handi at Worli. When BJP stood by these govindas (participants), Thackeray and others ridiculed us. During his tenure as CM, Maha Vikas Aghadi had done nothing to save Hindu festivals.”

Commenting on Thackeray’s response to space mission, Shelar asked, “Uddhav ji, why were you reminded of felicitating the Chandrayaan-3 mission only after Pakistan extended its greetings? Why didn’t you congratulate the scientists before that? All this while what was it that was bothering you so much? Was there something that India earned, the scientists conquered, the world witnessed but you were not quite satisfied with?”

The party that is left with no policy, no ideology is Uddhav Thackeray’s party. BJP never stoops from its level while talking. And hence we will humbly say, Uddhav ji, stay in limits. BJP’s honesty is not its weakness. You have reached a stage where you neither have corporators, nor MLAs nor MPs. And even if I do not intend to say this, I am left with no option but to say that your condition is equivalent to that of Asrani from the movie Sholay. We sincerely do not intend to call you ‘ghar bashya’, ‘ghar kombda’ (one who prefers to stay at home) or even ‘tatya vinchu’ and we will never say that…. You need to introspect.”

“INDIA’s meeting is more about ensuring family interests rather than national interests,” Mumbai BJP chief opined.

Hypothetically, he added, “even if we consider that this alliance comes to power, these people will take their respective parties, the Lok Sabha, the Rajya Sabha all for a ride.”
