Mumbai: UP doctor enters Amit Shah’s presser as journo to protest, held

The doctor had come to Mumbai a few days ago. Police are checking as to how he managed to make a fake ID of a journalist.

Mumbai police have arrested a 53-year-old doctor belonging to Kanpur, UP, for allegedly posing as a journalist to attend a press conference held by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Bandra-Kurla Complex on Sunday, and distributing handbills and staging a protest.

Shakti Prakash Bhargav (53) had made a fake identity card of a journalist from a Hindi newspaper. Handbills found from Bhargav’s possession claim alleged irregularities in Kanpur’s Lal Imli Mill. He has been charged for trespassing and forgery by the police.

The accused person did not indulge in any violent act, and it seemed that he intended to raise concerns regarding irregularities pertaining to Kanpur’s Lal Imli Mill, a matter he had been following since a long time.

The doctor had come to Mumbai a few days ago. Police are checking as to how he managed to make a fake ID of a journalist. The doctor is also accused of throwing footwear at a BJP leader during a press conference in 2019 in Delhi.
