A veteran actor on Wednesday deposed before a sessions court in connection with a rape and cheating case filed against a man. She was the first person to depose as a witness in the case, registered in 2018, and her testimony was recorded “on camera”.

The actor said in her complaint that the accused had allegedly prepared a fake marriage certificate and pretended to be her husband to buy a property on her behalf in 2016, and she was duped of Rs 15 crore. On Wednesday, a plea was moved by the accused, seeking submission of documents to support his case. The deposition will continue after the accused’s plea is heard.
