Patwar union strike opposing bribe charges

The members will strike till their demands are accepted, they indicated.

Revenue patwar union of Ludhiana is on strike protesting against registration of FIR against Patwari Jaspreet Singh on corruption charges. The strike comes at a time when people are running to revenue offices for colony regularisation work done. The members will strike till their demands are accepted, they indicated.

Interestingly, the FIR was registered against Jaspreet Singh last week after DC Rajat Aggarwal saw a CD recording shown by anti-corruption board of India in which Patwari took Rs 3,000. DC after watching the CD himself got the FIR registered. However, the Patwaris said that FIR was registered on October 10 and after that, the union members have come across 3 more ‘patial’ videos by various organisations in which patwaris have been shown pocketing money. The union members stated that they were being black mailed the by organisations with vested interests and the money they take are government fee.
