Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak on Wednesday inaugurated a Point of Care Testing (POCT) pathology at the Central Hospital in the Maha Kumbh complex, Prayagraj. He also inspected the hospital premises and directed the medical and paramedical staff to provide the best possible care, underscoring that the health and well-being of devotees at the Maha Kumbh was the top priority.
“The state-of-the-art Smart Central Pathology Lab has been built 2.5 times the capacity of its predecessor. It offers modern facilities for testing,” a press release stated. Operated round-the-clock, the facility is staffed by over 100 healthcare workers. Patient reports are delivered digitally via WhatsApp or SMS, ensuring a faster, more transparent, and paperless process, the government said.
Deputy Chief Minister Pathak noted that over 10,000 patients have already received treatment during the Maha Kumbh.
Later during a review meeting with health officials, the Deputy CM emphasised the collective responsibility of ensuring high-quality healthcare for all devotees attending the Maha Kumbh. He directed that no patient visiting the hospital should be turned away and must receive proper treatment and necessary medications before being discharged.
