School of Planning and Architecture,New Delhi,will prepare a plan for landscaping Janeshwar Mishra Park to be set up in Gomti Nagar Extension area in Luckow. The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) Board on Friday gave its consent over selection of the institute for the task.
The park was developed by the previous Mayawati government on nearly 350-acres. It was then named as Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Harit Park. The SP government recently renamed it after socialist Janeshwar Mishra. The BSP had opposed the governments move and also staged a dharna at the site.
The boundary wall around the park has already been constructed and more than 40,000 trees have been planted inside. But leveling of earth is still to be completed.
LDA Vice-Chairman Rajneesh Dube said the institute would plan the development of the park against a payment of Rs 99 lakh. The LDA has proposed to provide various facilities like cycle-track,walking tracks,public utilities in the park.
