Azam Khan’s aide and ex-cop Aaly Hasan Khan arrested in Delhi

Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur police on Sunday arrested former MP Azam Khan’s close associate and retired deputy superintendent of police Aaly Hasan Khan against whom a non-bailable warrant (NBW) was pending in two separate cases of land grabbing and cheating. The cases were lodged at Azim Nagar police station.

Amar Singh, Station House Officer of Azim Nagar police station, said, “We arrested Aaly Hasan as the Rampur court has issued an NBW against him in two cases for non-appearance during trial. He was arrested from his residence in Delhi on Sunday.” The officer added that he was produced before a court and sent to judicial custody.

As many as 54 cases are lodged against Aaly Hasan at different police stations of Rampur. In many of the cases, he is a co-accused along with Azam Khan for allegedly grabbing land belonging to local residents. While Azam Khan is the Chancellor of Mohammad Ali Jauhar University, the former senior police officer is its chief security officer.

Aaly Hasan, who was posted in Rampur during the tenure of the Samajwadi Party government, was the station house officer of Civil Lines police station in Rampur during 2002-07. Between 2013 and 2016, he held the charge of two circles – City and Swar – after being promoted to DSP rank.
