8 hurt in attack on religious gathering

Sultanpur: Eight persons were injured on Sunday when a mob attacked a religious gathering in Khutehna village of the district,police said. Condition of one of the injured was stated to be critical. The attackers were against organising the prayer in the village,police said. An FIR has been registered in this regard and two persons were detained by the police.

Woman killed by train at crossing

Azamgarh: An elderly woman was killed on Sunday after being hit by a train at an unmanned level crossing here,police said. Kishwari Begam (7O) was hit by Godan express in Mubarakpur area when she was going to the market.
